In the spirit of Hestia, we believe the kitchen is the heart of the home’s sanctity. This Nutella fudge isn’t just a recipe; it’s an invitation to slow down. Crafted with the deep, roasted notes of Italian hazelnuts and a texture as smooth as polished stone, it is a small, sweet but salty, ceremony for your afternoon tea.

20+ servings
540g dark cooking chocolate
2 cans of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of Nutella
Sea salt for dusting
Add the chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl, and melt in the microwave in 30 second bursts. Stir at each interval to ensure consistent melting.
Once melted, add Nutella and mix until Nutella is well combined.
Add condensed milk and mix well. Note: the mix will begin to thicken quickly.
Once well mixed, spread quickly into pan. Dust with sea salt.
Refrigerate until firm. Slice into squares.
The Ingredient of Stillness: Once the fudge is spread in the pan and dusted with salt, acknowledge the most important ingredient: stillness. As the fudge sets, intentionally practice a period of rest. Resist the urge to "get things done" and instead use these hours to simply exist in the space you have created.
The Private Ceremony: When you finally slice and taste the fudge, do not chew immediately. Let it rest on your tongue and notice the temperature and the weight of the piece. Pay close attention to the sensory contrast as the sharp sea salt crystals spark against the deep, roasted notes of the hazelnut and chocolate.
A Moment of Enoughness: Allow the smooth, stone-like texture of the fudge to ground you in the present moment. Recognize this as a small, private ceremony of joy, reminding you that your kitchen is a sanctuary for domestic rhythm and that sweetness is often earned through the simple passing of time.
